Writing is one of the most important skills both for our everyday communication and most professions.This webinar aims at familiarising you with the genre based theory of writing and the challenges it involves. For this reason, it will first discuss the necessary genres our students must be able to produce effectively from A1 to C2 levels and then, it will present the procedure of designing authentic writing tasks step-by-step in order for our students to be able to get the message across!

Virginia Blani is graduate of the University of Athens, Faculty of English
Language and Literature with an MA in Translation Studies (the University of Manchester) and a PhD in Language Testing and Assessment (University of Athens). Her main interests are teaching English to young learners, issues relevant to the teaching of ESP and the translation of technical texts. The area of her research is on the teaching, testing and assessment of writing in English language exams. She is currently working as an English teacher in the private sector.
